#3 In His Image - A Survey of Christ in the Old Testament

Like the tabernacle in the wilderness, our world is patterned after a Heavenly blueprint (Exodus 25:40). It provides man with an architectural pattern for his own creative work, his society, his morality and every other sphere of life. This must be true because Man was created … [Read more...] about #3 In His Image – OT Survey

A Face to Gladden the Heart - Sermo Humilis

You and I are the image of God. In sin, and outside of Christ, we are like a slowly fading photograph that will one day perish. In Christ, we are born again. We have passed from death to life, and as we stand unveiled before Him each Lord's day, our faces are being sculpted and … [Read more...] about A Face to Gladden the Heart

The Shadow of things to come - sermo humilis

The good news of the resurrection is that there is a real you, more 'you' than you can possibly imagine. And as you become more and more gripped by the life of Jesus you become more and more uniquely yourself. You become more and more of what God in Christ has made you to be. A … [Read more...] about A Shadow of Things to Come

Lock the Door, Swallow the Key

Lock the door and swallow the key- sermo humilis

The perishing of the wicked is no light matter. Hell is what happens when we tell God that we don't want our life to be shaped in His image. It is the final destruction of the slowly decaying image of God in man. When Jesus cried out in Luke 13:34, O Jerusalem, … [Read more...] about Lock the Door, Swallow the Key

Thor's Oak

Around 723 AD, a missionary named Boniface entered Hesse in Germany. Upon finding a sacred tree named Thor’s Oak, he took an axe to it, cut it down and built a church. Many in the town, believing that the God of Boniface must be greater than Thor, left their paganism behind converted to Christianity.
