We, on the other hand, would be hard pressed to find (or admit to), a single instance of … [Read more...] about Prayer

Pray for them that Keep Watch - Sermo Humilis

A servant of the gospel has a simple task. Shepherd the flock that is among you (1 Peter 5:2). Simple, but often overwhelming in practice. If the current chaos that God has sent upon the world is stress-testing the saints, then how much more those called to guide, guard and … [Read more...] about Pray for them that Keep Watch

A Jolly Good Dust Up- Sermo Humilis

Isaac went to great lengths to avoid conflict. Until Abimelech busted him having a poolside cuddle, Isaac had been pretending that Rebekah was his sister. Back in Matthew 6:33, Jesus said, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." The Kingdom of God and righteousness of God are not mystical entities. They have content, they have substance. They look like something in … [Read more...] about Jesus, Ask and Receive

26 Jesus, The Battle for Mercy - The Life and Times of Jesus

The first request in the Lord's prayer is a call to war. In order for the Kingdom of God to come, your kingdom must go. Surrender or defeat, these are our options. This is the kind of defeat that Christians are called to pray for. The kind that brings about the triumph of … [Read more...] about Jesus, The Battle for Mercy

Many in the town, believing that the God of Boniface must be greater than Thor, left their paganism behind converted to Christianity.
