"Set aside your wife, children, mother and father. Bear your cross, count the cost, renounce all that you have." The … [Read more...] about Impossible Demands Made Possible

Lips of Grace ~ Proverbs 4:20-22

Lips of Grace _ Proverbs 4_20-22 - Sermo Humilis

Unlike his father David, Solomon didn't have any wars. But he did have words and he knew what words were for. He knew what words could do. Words can wound. They can tear down, destroy and break. They can also build worlds, save souls and heal broken hearts. In Proverbs chapter … [Read more...] about Lips of Grace ~ Proverbs 4:20-22

When You Fall - sermo humilis

Have you ever fallen into sin so badly that you began to wonder if Jesus could ever look at you, much less welcome you again? You've made so many promises in the past. Promises to forsake your sin. But by breakfast you find that you've fallen again. Many Christians struggle … [Read more...] about When We Fall

14 March 2019 By David Trounce

Grace and Truth - sermo humilis

What should the world see when it looks at us? It should see Jesus Christ. Not a list of man-made regulations under which to bury Him, and not something approximating Oprah at a rave party. Our actions and our speech are always pointing somewhere. Either we are saying and … [Read more...] about Full of Grace and Truth

Thor's Oak

Around 723 AD, a missionary named Boniface entered Hesse in Germany. Upon finding a sacred tree named Thor’s Oak, he took an axe to it, cut it down and built a church. Many in the town, believing that the God of Boniface must be greater than Thor, left their paganism behind converted to Christianity.
