Rejoicing in Judgement

Rejoicing in Gods Judgement - Sermo Humilis

It may seem odd at first that we should rejoice in judgement, but the fact is that we do it every day. The only time we don't rejoice in judgement is when the judgement has gone against us. Which is a good reason to be on the right side of history. We rejoice when the court … [Read more...] about Rejoicing in Judgement

Jeremiah is living in the final days of Judah (Jeremiah 11:1-20). Things are changing quickly as the threat from Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar grows daily. Artificial Sweeteners - Sermo Humilis

A century ago, the world made bread to avoid starvation. Today, it's a hobby. For most of history we sought water in order to survive. Today, our problem is choosing the most fashionable bottled mineral water and the perfect slice of lemon, along with the most socially … [Read more...] about Artificial Sweeteners

#20 Jesus and Eternity

#20 Jesus and Eternity - Jesus Through all of Life

The Prayer of Jesus in John 17 concerns itself with three great themes. Eternity (John 17:3), unity (John 17:20-21) and love (John 23-24, 26). John 17:26 is particularly important because, for Jesus, love and unity are aspects of eternal life. He does not picture eternal life … [Read more...] about #20 Jesus and Eternity

Thor's Oak

Around 723 AD, a missionary named Boniface entered Hesse in Germany. Upon finding a sacred tree named Thor’s Oak, he took an axe to it, cut it down and built a church. Many in the town, believing that the God of Boniface must be greater than Thor, left their paganism behind converted to Christianity.
