Have you ever been to one of those church meetings where you are encouraged to say a prayer and invite Jesus into your heart? And, provided you were sincere - congratu-well-done! You are now born again. Born from above! This kind of modern evangelism has all kinds of problems. … [Read more...] about An Ocean of Goodness

Jesus, Table Manners

#45 Jesus, Table Manners - The Life and Times of Jesus

Our table manners are a good indicator of what we think is going on when we gather to eat. Humility here translates to humility everywhere else. Onlookers - Sermo Humilis

The Gospels are full of accounts of Jesus teaching, healing and giving the Pharisees a drubbing. And one of the interesting things about those incidents was the place of the onlooker. We tend to think of evangelism as direct communication to a person or crowd. But quite often … [Read more...] about The Onlookers

Here, we have the universal excuse of all who are perishing: “Why wasn’t I told?” The question may be sincere, and most believers want to give a sincere answer, but there is a trap … [Read more...] about Sheep Spotting
