There is a tendency to reject the material world in favour of some idea of a super-spiritual Christianity. … [Read more...] about Because His Love is True

Jesus, Proof of Pardon

#32 Jesus, Proof of Pardon - The Life and Times of Jesus

The people that Jesus had come to save had thought that He was too liberal with His company. Not discerning enough about the kind of folks He was hanging around. In response, Jesus said that wisdom would be justified by her children. In other words, His policy of eating with … [Read more...] about Jesus, Proof of Pardon

Gratitude and Gods Love - Sermo Humilis

I recently heard someone say, "We don't deserve God's love and so, as Christians, we should be grateful that God loves us." Strange thing was, it didn't fill me with gratitude. It just upset my stomach. Somehow, being told I didn't deserve God's love didn't make me feel overly … [Read more...] about Gratitude, The Non-Crappy Version

It was not, first and foremost, thought of as a feeling but an act of self-giving for the sake of our neighbour. Charity is the manifestation of God's grace in human kindness, mercy … [Read more...] about Charity

Thor's Oak

Around 723 AD, a missionary named Boniface entered Hesse in Germany. Upon finding a sacred tree named Thor’s Oak, he took an axe to it, cut it down and built a church. Many in the town, believing that the God of Boniface must be greater than Thor, left their paganism behind converted to Christianity.
