The Politics of Porn - Sermo Humilis

There's a reason why the phone in your pocket has unlimited access to every kind of porn imaginable. Tyrants hate virtuous men. Virtuous men are difficult to shackle and chain. Turning Neither to the Right or Left _ Proverbs 3_23 - Sermo Humilis

The Christian life is depicted as a journey. A walk with God. We are to walk in the light of His commands and not in the counsel of the wicked. We are to walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. We are to stand by the road and look, and ask for the ancient paths where the good … [Read more...] about Turn Not Right or Left ~ Proverbs 3:23

Set The Trumpet to Thy Mouth - Sermo Humilis

As Jesus begins His mission to fulfil the “Year of the Lord's Favour”, the year of Jubilee, two things become immediately obvious. First, His mission will be global. A Little Amalekite, Here and There - Sermo Humilis

We spend a lot of time on the big sins. We worry over them, sometimes reach a point of despair over them, and we encourage others to wage war over them. Such battles make for good testimony. But, as Solomon once said, it is the little foxes who ruin the vineyard (Song of Solomon … [Read more...] about A Little Amalekite, Here and There

A Good Lament

A Good Lament - Sermo Humilis

The world and its religions have no rival to the Psalms. Buddha has no songbook and while the Allah of Islam calls us to remain prostrate and bow low the Psalms teach us to lift our heads, whether in sadness or joy and look to the Lord for help. For the people of God, the … [Read more...] about A Good Lament

Thor's Oak

Around 723 AD, a missionary named Boniface entered Hesse in Germany. Upon finding a sacred tree named Thor’s Oak, he took an axe to it, cut it down and built a church. Many in the town, believing that the God of Boniface must be greater than Thor, left their paganism behind converted to Christianity.
