Rahab chose to lie like a trooper because she was one. Rahab was prepared to go up against her own … [Read more...] about She Lied Like a Trooper

The Sparrow - sermo humilis

Property will always be owned and the commandment, "Thou shalt not steal", implies the right to private ownership. God's claim on the earth … [Read more...] about What’s Yours is Mine

Gravity and the Grand Design - Job - sermo humilis

Everybody has a god, it's inescapable. Whether it's yourself, an author, celebrity or your dad, there is something at the top of everybody's hierarchy of authority. For Stephen Hawking, it was an indifferent little force called gravity. Most people have probably heard of … [Read more...] about Gravity and the Grand Design

Thor's Oak

Around 723 AD, a missionary named Boniface entered Hesse in Germany. Upon finding a sacred tree named Thor’s Oak, he took an axe to it, cut it down and built a church. Many in the town, believing that the God of Boniface must be greater than Thor, left their paganism behind converted to Christianity.
