The Politics of Envy - Sermo Humilis

In the world that God made, each man is judged and rewarded for his own actions (Romans 2:6). It's this justice that gives rise to our desperate need and God's gracious provision of mercy. The world, liking neither God's justice nor His mercy, has sought to establish its own … [Read more...] about The Politics of Envy

#35 Jesus, Miracles and Mercy - The Life and Times of Jesus

As judgements, they are a merciful reminder of judgement to come, that we … [Read more...] about Jesus, Miracles and Mercy

#29 Jesus, Equal Measures - The Life and Times of Jesus

You and I are engaged in the ministry of mercy to those who desire mercy and we are to leave room for the mercy and judgement of God for those who reject it. This ministry includes the use of true weights and measures to judge truth and error in our own lives first and afterwards … [Read more...] about Jesus, Equal Measures

We tend to view justice as the occasion where people get their “just desserts”, and, while this is true, there is another, inescapable aspect of justice that is evident everywhere, but often overlooked. Behind the often comical “Pearly Gates” cartoon series by Ian Jones … [Read more...] about Where Justice and Mercy Meet
